The Creative side of Me - Part 9 of Part 1

Part 9 of Part 1

On Friday I saw the second match of the world cup live. France Vs Uruguay. I had just the luck that I was able to watch the only non-exciting match in the world cup so far.
As you know I was not a soccer fan, but as the world cup proceeded so did my excitement and even my patrionism.
I found out that Messi is playing for Argentina in the world cup. I saw the whole match (on TV) of Argentina against Nigeria and what a game it was!
I have seen 5 full soccer games in less than a week and the others I have watched at least half if not more.

Now in the plane on my way to Israel for the rest of the time period of the world cup I...

In the match I saw live there was a guy sitting next to me with a vuvuuzela. He blew it and I sub-consciously cringed. He didn't blow it for the rest of the match. I felt a bit bad. vuvuzelas aren't my favourite thing, but I honestly don't mind them. After they numb out your ears it doesn't really bother you anymore. This instrument that makes a huge racket and is blown non-stop into my ears and other people's ears make some persons happy and if I really don't mind them why give someone the feeling of guilt everytime they blow the vuvuzela. My father has a completely different perspective on this, but everyone has the right to their opinions, right? or does that change when it comes to vuvuzelas?

Being a South African  who thought that our soccer team couldn't kick a ball before, I feel ashamed, but proud that they proved me wrong. Our goal scored by Tshabalala, the first goal of the 2010 World Cup, was elegant and fantastic beyond imagination, well at least to me.

I am sorry reader if you were not a soccer fan before the world cup and you still aren't one now. I know I probably sound like my teachers and their soccer devotions that I dreaded at the time, but I had a change of mind, that tends to happen.

On a completely different note! I am going to without shame advertise my friends' and my own other blog- For My Frifes- This is more of a journal like blog of each one of my friends, but names aren't mentioned, but if you do the great honour of checking out the blog (its in my blog list) then you can try guess which one is mine.

The Creative side of Me - Part 4 of Part 1

Part 4 of Part 1

... After 45 minutes of peace, quiet and boredom-

The Fifa Soccer World Cup. My teachers think that everyone is interested in the patriotic duty we have for our country, so they decide that we have to listen to the same thing not once, not twice, but three times.
Okay, so maybe it is a grand festival that is being held in my country, but if I am going to be realistic, I don't think that South Africa will get into the second round. Our national sports are rugby and cricket, before a few years ago I didn't even know we had a soccer team.
I am a fan the Barcelona and their player Messi, but I have never seen one whole game of theirs and I don't know who Messi is playing for in the world cup.
I am going to post the names of the players in Barcelona on another post and a result to a game that I watched and I promise I will not cheat, you will have to trust me!
I saw this political cartoon, done by Zapiro, the other day. It had three ancient empires and the lands they used to own in the world. And in the fourth block was a man sitting on the world smiling with a shirt that said Fifa.
Here it is:

10 illegal minutes more for 30 students. 23 of which felt to guilty and headed back to class. 7 stayed.
Maybe not such a big deal now, maybe not such a big deal later, but what if the 7 that stayed got a thrill out of it? What if 3 of them enjoyed the thrill? What if 2 of them wanted more of the thrill? What if one of them got more of the thrill, but in other dangerous ways? A small risk, but is it worth taking?

That probably won't happen, but its fun to follow through a dangerous theory.
